Haggard

Yesterday was one unique day in term of exhausting… After about two to three weeks of thinking and wondering, yesterday had been the ultimate point of all…

And finally it has been released!

My legs were jellylike to the extent that it was difficult to walk my way … My heart was like bloated and my mind totally blur!

I eventually got released! …

And I slept…

I don’t know whether I solved a problem or whether I’ve created one. I don’t know yet!

I will regret! Surely I will …
Now I feel like full of void!

But selfishness would not be better! honnesty and sincerity are the only ways! Even when pain follows…

May God help me raise again even under the rains and in the storms!

A crazy assignment

I have not written much at all next week!
The reason?
Well it is simple, I was busy doing an assignment for the course entitles ‘Enterprise Database System’ and I got totally overwhelmed by it… working everyday from 5pm to 12am starting from sunday, the 6th till yesterday monday the 14th …

And the worst is that I could not complete !
Indeed, the assignment was composed of:

  • A database design
  • An application communicating with the database
  • 2 reports + 1 user manual

Actually, I could have completed because it is a topic where I am fairly comfortable… Moreover, I already have been designing a couple of databases, written some db application using different technologies : access -VBA, VB, Java, …

The point is that the concepts are known !

Why I could not make it? This is the next question from my logical readers…
I could not make it because I have chosen to write an application using Java and by focusing too much on the back end, I found myself short in time to design the front end. As a result, the application is very big on the hidden part but what you see is … not much …

Well… hopefully I’ll still be able to make it… I have written to beautiful report to complete the whole thing … Praising a little bit my lecturer ;)

Let’s wait and see !

Yes, I have bought Civilization 4 ….

But I haven’t played to it yet or so less than I cannot write anything about it.
Moreover I have discovered another game : Hidden And Dangerous 2 which is fantastic - though the AI is kinda stupid dummy fool …. But let’s not focus on the negative !

Ok leave it some time, a more detailled post will come about it!

My boss likes cookies

For Malay new year, our boss bought us cookies, special cookies from middle east - he is iranian.

Once back home, I tryed a few as well as my flatmates.

Everyone found it so delicious that they asked me to ask my boss where he bought it…
I am set for the next day!

During lunch time, I tell him the story and then here he says :
“You can find it in Bangsar Village, tell my name, you’ll get a discount”.
And here I go :
“Oh really?! Do you buy so much …”

Everybody laughed …
Actually, his wife hold the shop and they sat a factory in Malaysia …

Big big big mistake !!! Anyway, it was more fun than harm…

Take care everyone !

Hi back

This has been quite some time that I haven’t come on my blog and that I haven’t written a line!
As you know, I was in holidays and since I don’t have Internet at home, then you can’t get any updates on my blog!
So now you know what you can do : get together and buy my an internet connection! :)

A few important things happen during this holidays :

Deepavali celebration

My colleague and friend Sajitha invited me for Deepavali as well as my colleagues. At the end of the day, we were only four going : my boss, 2 colleagues (nephews of my boss) and me!
Since they were breaking fast, my boss brought some cookies from middle east which constituted a first encas for this evening.
We reached the home of my colleague just a few minutes later and we were welcomed by the grand parents of Sajithat and Sajitha herself. The feeling was very warm and they immediatly sat us on the sofa and served us indian cookies. Though they were so kind, I felt a bit shy because this was the first time I enter an indian house and for such an important celebration moreover. So I was not very sure what was the proper way to behave…
But obviously they didnt mind so much and what mattered the most for them was that we had enough to eat.
The husband of Sajitha, who I had met just once before, went down the stairs to greet us and he came straight to me to shake my hand with a very friendly “Hi Fred!” almost like if we had know each other since ever! It made me feel very confortable and also I must admit a bit proud in front of my boss and colleagues… :)

After some chatting, we quickly switched to the kitchen where the dinner took place with some home made delicious indian food. At the menu : mutton, chicken, rice, cucumber and so on!

Here again was a good occasion to observe different customs.
For example, Sajitha explained to us that they were receiving friends since early morning and later I learned that it lasted until around 12am. They liked it that way because it gives them the possibility to share more quality time with each and everyone. Nevertheless, that gives them much more work… (cooking and receiving).
The food also was not at all as expected… I mean somehow I expected it that way, but let’s talk as a fresh out-of-the-boat-from-France clearly stated as a fresh foreigner who just arrived in Malaysia. So the food was not as expected! Of course I know that rice is the main food here, but I have to say that it does not suit with my idea of celebration… Besides that, it was really delicious: mutton, beef, veggies… Nice indian dinner + all sorts of cookies …

Anyway, it was really nice and I really appreciated to meet Sajitha’s family especially her grand ma who seemed to like me quite much :)

I think I should probably call myself a culture explorer! with all the enlightment which goes with it.

Ok got to go!

Take care all!

Fred
